The Community Mentorship Hub is a new 2021 initiative at Foothills Alliance Church which is dedicated to supporting community members who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. The Hub seeks to support community members in three key areas by providing educational, mental health, and financial wellness supports. Click here for more.
At Foothills, we know God calls the church to be a sign of his Kingdom where walls that divide are torn down: under the reign of God all people are equal. Our practice is to be as welcoming as God himself, demonstrating to the world a foretaste of his Kingdom.
We also know there is still substantial work to be done. As a church that believes every person is of equal value to God, we are grieved to hear of the many injustices Indigenous People's have experienced, and continue to experience, across Canada. BowWest Community Resource Centre aids 26 north west communities in Calgary. They help to connect individuals and families with appropriate services to help support them, to provide support for community based initiatives, and to help individuals meet their basic needs. Foothills and BowWest have a strategic partnership to help meet the needs of residents within the Edgemont community. Foothills also donates items from our annual Bless Drive to BowWest.
The Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre offers assistance for anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy or experiencing post-abortion grief. They offer free peer counselling and advocacy, practical support services, prenatal and pregnancy classes among other information for women experiencing pregnancy and parenting. Foothills helps the CPCC by donating baby items through our annual Christmas No Crib For A Bed fundraiser, giving food items from our Bless Drive, participating in their annual Baby Bottle Campaign, and providing volunteers who help in various capacities.
Every Wednesday morning at 7am a number of volunteers serve around 50 hungry kids breakfast before they head off to school. This program receives a portion of Bless Drive donations from Foothills every year.

Sonshine Community Services is a ministry that provides a safe space and shelter for women and children who are escaping family violence and abuse. They help women and children transform their lives by providing day homes, empowering families to move towards healthy and safe relationships, and educating communities in order to help them become safer and healthier places to live.
Foothills helps by sponsoring a suite for women in need (volunteers help to clean and stock it), as well as donating financially, donating to the Bless Drive food and personal hygiene items, and helping women and children transition in and out of Sonshine homes.
