Dan & Melissa

Dan and Melissa are International Workers sent from Foothills Alliance Church in Calgary, Alberta and Penang International Church in Penang, Malaysia, a church plant of the C&MA Canada. They have six children and are self-funded international workers dedicated to seeing disciples make disciples. Dan and Melissa are serving in Thailand under YWAM USA.

They both come from Calgary, where they were born and raised. After University they stayed in Calgary for the next three years working in the corporate world before God called them overseas. To begin, their overseas life consisted of business, transformed to business as missions and eventually became completely mission focused.

They have both come from a long heritage in the Alliance. Melissa attended Foothills Alliance as a young girl. Daniel’s great grandfather Gordon Skitch helped to start Canadian Bible Institute, which later became CBC and Ambrose. He also helped to start a number of churches across the prairies and was the district superintendent for the Christian & Missionary Alliance. That legacy has continued to be a driving force in the family and propelled them toward living their lives for Jesus.

They feel called to make disciples who make disciples. This has been their vision since arriving in Thailand five years ago. God has been gracious in working with Dan and Melissa in that vision, particularly among Buddhist and Muslim Thai people groups.
