Membership

Foothills is full of passionate followers of Christ who are dedicated to giving their tithes and offerings, serving faithfully and are actively involved in a Group. So, what is the difference between a regular attender and someone who does the same thing but is called a Member? And why does this matter?

Membership tells us you have chosen Foothills Alliance Church as your home church, are formally committing to Foothills’ mission and vision and are mutually accountable to the Leadership. It tells us you are willing to take ownership of and responsibility for our church family by giving your time, talents and treasures each year.

Formal commitment means you have gone through the official Membership process: attending a Membership Class, filling out a membership application and meeting with a couple of our Board members.

Through mutual accountability, Members and church leadership are held to a Biblical standard of living and leading by Biblical principles and the church’s values and guidelines. Leaders submit to the established decision-making process, part of which happens through voting at the Annual General Meeting. This accountability sharpens us individually and strengthens us as a church.

Members take ownership and responsibility because they see a mission that is critical to the lives of those around us; both locally and globally—a mission that we’re called to participate as the Church. As a Member, you show your ownership by giving of your time, talents and treasures. Your example demonstrates generosity through giving tithes and offerings, joy through serving the church, spiritual growth through Groups and life in the Spirit by living God’s way.

Join a GROUP - In our Life Groups, we have the opportunity to truly know one another - our struggles, our victories, our dreams. This is where we can share our wisdom, encourage one another and hold each other accountable in our walk with Christ. By joining a group, we’re not just participating in another church activity; we’re investing in our spiritual lives and the lives of those around us.

Attend a CLASS - We hold Membership Classes throughout the year designed to not only lead you through the process of becoming a Member, but learning about Foothills and our denomination, the C&MA, that we are a part of.

Meet with a BOARD MEMBER - Our team will forward your application to a board member who will meet with you to review the information and get to know you a little better. This is often done on Sunday mornings.

Await CONFIRMATION - Once the board member confirms that you are committed to the expectations of a Member, your application will be affirmed and within a couple of weeks of the meeting, you can expect to receive a welcome email.
