Darren & Minako

Darren and Minako, part of the Foothills family since 1995, worked in the IT industry. After their first missions trip in 2000, they felt called to serve overseas and in 2004, they moved to Japan where Minako taught at an international school and Darren initiated a shoebox program much like Operation Christmas Child.

In 2015, the Polischuks moved to Cambodia to begin social enterprise organizations that provide opportunities for the poor to learn skills and help them gain hope by learning about Jesus’ love. They work with the marginalized poor and have started up work initiatives through vocational training, leadership development, sustainable resorting and family support through Work of Your Hand (WYH). WYH exists to help create a just world, where the poor have dignified work and whose communities are transformed by the love of Jesus.

In 2019, they started ‘Clothed in Dignity Centre’ business which is a workplace for women to learn to sew and sell the product around the world. Then in 2020 another business, Made For This Fabrication Shop and fish farm, was established to provide work and training for men in building. Their desire is that the poor will find dignity, worth and escape poverty while finding true healing through the love of Jesus.

They have two adult children Mike, Sean and their spouses and four wonderful grandchildren.
