Karissa Delamont
New Leader and New Ventures Implementer
For the past 6 months I have been trying to wrap my mind around how to best answer this. I have been learning, growing, and connecting with other New Venture implementers and leaders all across Canada. New Ventures is not a program or model—it’s a relational approach to discerning and activating new expressions of church. At the heart of New Ventures is the belief that God is still creating, still calling, still renewing. Scripture is filled with moments where God does a new thing—not disconnected from the past but as a faithful continuation of his redeeming work in real places and through real people. How can we better respond to the new things God is doing? We trust that God is still initiating new expressions of His Church – not as a break from tradition but as a Spirit-led conversation of His mission in our time and place.
There are currently:
6 active new ventures in Alberta (the most recent launching in August!)
24 new ventures conversations happening across Alberta and 114 happening across Canada
As Foothills we are exploring how God is leading Foothills. We recognize a deep DNA and history of multiplication in Foothills’ history. This has been a sending church. I am curious if God is inviting Foothills deeper into partnering in releasing people and initiatives from this place—to see new faith communities start, to reach new people, in new places in Canada.
Do you feel God has given you a dream for new communities of faith in Canada? If so, I would love to have a conversation! Send me an email and I’d love to connect karissa.delamont@myfoothills.ca
