Senior Adults
Foothills 55+ Ministry is a vibrant, welcoming community where faith, friendship, and health flourish together. Designed for adults in the second half of life, our ministry creates opportunities to grow spiritually, physically, and socially through monthly luncheons, wellness classes, discovery groups, coffee times, and game days. More than just events, this is a place to belong, to share stories, and to continue growing in Christ while encouraging others along the journey. Whether it’s enjoying a meal, learning something new, or celebrating life together, we believe this season is full of purpose and joy—and we’d love to share it with you.
Wellness Class - Walking
Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:30-9:45AM, Gym
This cardio program encourages members to get active through walking in the gym and around the buildilng. This is a SELF-DIRECTED program.
Wellness Class - Toning
Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:30-11:30AM, Worship Centre
This core muscle program is designed by Dr. Miriam E. Nelson (School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Tufts University). The program aims to help you maintain muscle strength and mobility later in life by taking you through a series of light exercises twice a week.
Game Time
Tuesdays 11:30AM-2PM, Room 203
Board games are back in style! Playing table games is a great way to socialize and exercise our brains. All games are free and everyone is welcome.
Senior's Coffee Time
Second Tuesday of the month 11:30AM-12:30PM, Rundle Hall
Join us in Rundle Hall to mingle and share your life stories over a hot cup of coffee. We will be meeting the second Tuesday of the month after Wellness Class. Bring a friend!
Luncheons
Join us the last Wednesday of the month for this time of inspiration. We begin at 11:30AM with 'meet and greet.' After a catered meal, we hear from a guest speaker or special group. This is a great way to meet others and connect with old friends on a regular basis as well as make new friends.
Discovery Time
Second Thursday of the month, TBD
Are you looking to discover more about the world and the people around you? Senior's Discovery Time is the group you are looking for! Meeting the second Thursday of the month, this group offers a safe space to a wide variety of interests and subjects. Each month Senior's Discovery Time will feature a new topic to explore. We hope you will join us and expand your horizons.
Phone Angel Ministry
This is a minsitry aimed at staying connected with all of our Seniors. Our volunteer phone angels check in and have meaningful conversation with our seniors at least once a month. If you would like to have a Phone Angel call you or if you would like to become a Phone Angel yourself, please contact Reception at 403.241.9777.
