Geoff & Eleanor

Geoff and Eleanor work with AIM International (Africa Inland Mission) with Calgary being their home base for ministry. Geoff grew up at Foothills. They both are medical doctors and served in Kenya for many years giving leadership in medical ministry locally and nationally.

Geoff serves as the Health Consultant in the AIM International office, supporting the Mobilizing and Receiving Regions in terms of their healthcare personnel. This involves some travel, supporting AIM Field locations in placing health professionals in their regions, with a view toward engaging unreached people groups. It also involves facilitating Mobilizing Regions in appropriately preparing health professionals to successfully transition to life and work overseas. Geoff, on a part time basis in Calgary, does surgical assisting, mostly with orthopedics, at various hospitals.

Eleanor has been involved in promoting palliative care in international settings as she teaches and speaks as opportunities arise. Currently, Eleanor works in Palliative Home Care, here in Calgary, supporting the home care nurses as they interact with patients and visits patients in their homes as the need arises.

Geoff and Eleanor have three adult children (David, Stephen, Amy), a daughter in law (Kim), and two grandsons (Eli and Caleb). Geoff’s elderly mother, of Calgary, still lives on her own but require support and care. Eleanor’s mom lives in an assisted living facility close to family in BC.
