Greg & Julie

Greg worked in architecture firms in Vancouver, BC for 14 years, moving to Calgary with his wife Julie and three children in 2005 to be full-time staff with EMI. He has been the Executive Director of EMI Canada since 2010 but remains active with international projects.

EMI is a service ministry (non-profit, charity) providing engineering and architectural services specifically to other Christian ministries who are undertaking capital projects where such services are unavailable or in some other way inaccessible. It provides professional services in a cost-effective manner and therefore operates as a charity, supported by a combination of the Church, individuals, foundations, and private companies.

All EMI project-leading professionals have faith-supported salaries, which is why Greg is a Foothills Family International Worker.

EMI USA was established in Colorado Springs, CO in1982 while the EMI Canada was established in Calgary, AB in 2002. Today there are ten country offices (Canada, USA, UK, Nicaragua, ME/NA, Uganda, Senegal, South Africa, India, and Cambodia along with the Global Office, which acts as the hub of the wheel for all these offices.

Of the 80+ organizations EMI Canada has served since 2002, several include Impact Ministries International, Ratanak International, Place of Rescue, Haiti Arise, SIM, MAF, Food for the Hungry, and Samaritan’s Purse. For these groups EMI has designed orphanages, schools, ministry centres, air strips, and contributed engineering services for WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) and disaster response deployments.
