The Terrifying Jesus; the Tender Jesus

Have you ever had the wrong first impression of another person? Ever meet someone that seemed hard but was kind? Or terrifying but was tender? This week, we enter Matthew 11:20-30, a text where Jesus seems to be terrifying and yet the text transitions to a sublime tenderness that is found in Jesus. We will also deal with the issue of judgement—God’s judgement and how we understand it in light of the kindness of Christ. Join us this Sunday at 9 or 11am as we study the terrifying Jesus and the tender Jesus and see how these two realities of Christ can propel us into greater joy and freedom!
