The King on a Colt

This Sunday is Palm Sunday - a moment where Christians for thousands of years have paused to witness the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem. Palm Sunday commemorates the moment when Jesus enters as King into Jerusalem. But a strikingly different king than anyone expected. In this week’s text, Luke 19:28-48, we see Jesus worshipped, enthroned, and yet, sitting on the foal of a donkey - an odd mount for a great king.
