A Man on the Run
Heroes of Faith

We’ve all heard the story of Jonah, or at least parts of it. We’ve definitely heard about a stubborn prophet being swallowed by and spit out of a big fish. This small book, found in our library of Scripture, has had an impact that is out of proportion to its size. It’s four chapters have captured the imagination of artists, authors, poets, theologians, and musicians.
This Sunday we invite Jonah to capture our imagination and speak to our lives as we consider his encounter with God and subsequent journey from the depths of the sea to the desserts of Nineveh. We’ll ask the Spirit of God to teach us the lesson this book has for us today, as we consider the question, “Who’s the hero here?”
